Dr. Michelle Young Vidikan

Dr. Michelle Young Vidikan, originally from Wheeling, West Virginia, graduated from Bethany College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Optometry degree in 2002 from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. While studying at Ohio State, Dr. Vidikan did clinical rotations at both the Wilce Student Health Center and the Canton VA Medical Center. She is a member of the AOA (American Optometric Association), OOA (Ohio Optometric Association), and VOSH International (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity). Dr. Vidikan is certified in diagnostic and therapeutic optometry, and she continues to hone her professional skills with annual continuing education and training throughout the US. She has a special interest in contact lens fittings and refractive surgery consultations for patients considering LASIK or PRK. She is a partner doctor with LasikPlus Vision Center and can perform both pre-op and post-op refractive surgery care in coordination with their staff and doctors. Dr. Vidikan's greatest clinical passion comes from serving the eye care needs of impoverished and isolated communities, both at home and abroad. She has volunteered her time at numerous health care clinics including Remote Area Medical in Harrogate, Tennessee; Medworks Ohio in Cleveland; OneSight and iSee (in-school comprehensive eye exam projects) locally in Dayton-area schools; and VOSH-Ohio's recent medical mission to Romania. She and her family are deeply involved in their local schools as well by serving as classroom helpers and volunteers for special events. When not busy at work or in her community, Dr. Vidikan loves spending time with her husband, also an optometrist, and their daughter and son. The Doctors Vidikan can often be found cheering for their children's sports teams as well as for their beloved Ohio State Buckeyes!
